I am sharing this to warn anyone considering renting in Brighton about my experience with Houseen Lettings.
From the start of the tenancy, the property had multiple faults that were fully reported with photos and videos. Despite this, the agency later attempted to deduct money from our deposit for the same pre-existing issues.
The sofa bed provided was extremely poor quality. After only six months, the wooden frame became exposed and the cushioning collapsed, making it very uncomfortable. This was normal use, not misuse.
We recovered our deposit only after a six-month dispute with The Dispute Service Ltd (TDS). Communication was poor, and as first-time UK renters we were also incorrectly asked for extra rent and bills.
Based on this experience, I strongly recommend extreme caution with Houseen Lettings.
