NACO - Providing Protection For Your Home Away From Home

With a global pandemic, a lot more people are choosing to stay close to home and explore the beautiful UK as opposed to travelling abroad. That's why the National Association of Caravan Owners came to us, hoping to grow their already successful business. We noticed that their website mainly focuses on static caravans and caravan insurance, and we were excited to help them improve their current ranking position of #45 for Static Caravan Insurance through a well-planned SEO strategy.

How It All Began

In 1996, The National Association of Caravan Owners was founded as the ultimate source for folks seeking information about static caravans and static caravan insurance throughout the UK. However, the association has faced some challenges in recent years, with a few customers questioning their legitimacy. So, they reached out to us for help in boosting their online presence and making their site seem more trustworthy. 

After doing some research, NACO's director stumbled upon our website and connected with one of our friendly account managers. Together, we decided to team up and expand their website using a comprehensive SEO strategy. Our main focus was on the term 'Static Caravan Insurance', and we dove headfirst into developing our strategy around this term. 

Establishing A Plan

We were excited about the unique strategy we developed for this project - as it was a little different from our usual approach. That said, our client had a website developer who was eager to tackle their technical issues. So, we agreed to conduct a technical audit of their site and share the results with their developer. As it turned out, the audit uncovered some pretty significant technical problems that needed fixing.

Working closely with our account manager, our SEO team decided to focus on improving the ranking for the term "Static Caravan Insurance," which was already at position #45 on Google. When the client approached us, we discussed the platform their site was built on and suggested that while we could work on SEO and content, the site itself could be improved. The client took our advice to heart and opted for a brand new platform.

Improving The Website

We kicked things off by addressing the H-tag issues and doing some thorough keyword research to produce optimised content that also provided valuable information to customers, such as an insurance buying guide. We also kept a close eye on NACO's competitors, using their successes to create engaging, optimised content for the entire site - including the main landing pages and homepage. Our goal was to write content that would captivate visitors to NACO's website.

Now, things took an interesting turn at this point: NACO requested that they upload the content themselves since they had a specific vision for the look and feel of their website. We were happy to oblige, as we always strive to work closely with our clients. Our SEO consultant wrote the content and provided all the necessary information - including internal linking structures and metadata - which enabled NACO to upload our optimised content in a way that would only enhance their pages whilst meeting their specific design tastes and visions. 

Working in-house, we created high-quality content and strong links to the primary URLs and supporting content on the site, helping to pass organic strength around. With backlinks, we were able to improve The National Association of Caravan Owners' domain rating from 32 to 40 - a significant improvement in less than a year! Plus, we increased the number of referring domains from 209 to 265.

The Finished Results

Throughout our collaboration with NACO, we've had a fantastic year making significant progress in enhancing their online presence. We're excited to share that NACO has seen tremendous growth, ranking for over 11,000 keywords, up from 7,576 when we started working together. We are particularly proud of the immense improvement in their ranking for the keyword 'static caravan insurance,' moving from position #45 to #5 on Google's search results page. We're confident that we can take them even higher in the coming months, using new and exciting techniques.
