Only Oak Furniture is our brand new Business Of The Month. We sat down with the owner (Stephen) and asked him a few questions.
Only Oak Furniture was established on the back of poor customer service received from another furniture company. I believe customer service should be the priority of every company. So, I put my grievance behind me and set out to prove to all those companies out there that if you get the customer service right, you will succeed. To put Only Oak Furniture on the Map we received a start-up loan form the X-Forces start-up loans company. This is a company for those in, leaving or have left the military. We then spent a lot of time researching possible website developers who also saw our vision. In the end we decided to team up with Espresso Web, who have been massively supportive throughout.
There are 3 main tasks we perform every day here at Only Oak Furniture. Teamwork and customer engagement is first and foremost. We review all our orders daily to ensure the lead times are adhered to. Making sure that if for any reason we see a possible issue, we contact our customers to inform them straight away. Our business relies on various importers and information can be fluid, meaning that we have to react to the information we are given daily. We review all of the latest information every single morning and, should it directly affect an order placed by a customer, we contact them directly. We believe that engaging with our customers is essential to the growth and reputation of our business.
Secondly, price. We review our prices regularly and negotiate with our suppliers to obtain the best possible prices out there today. As a company operating solely online through an E-commerce platform we have the ability to offer the best prices on the market today.
Finally, the postman! We must make sure we get to the postman before our two office dogs Millie and Jess do, otherwise we have our mail ripped up and stamped with teeth marks. This is probably our biggest daily challenge!
Keeping our customers happy! No one is perfect and on occasion things can go wrong; furniture can be damaged in transit, shipping can be late docking the containers, and the dogs can eat the invoices! But it’s how we deal with it that sets us apart. Customers rarely complain or comment when they get the furniture on time and in the condition they expect. But when they don’t, that is when we are at our best. Just take a look at our reviews, we ask every customer to review the site after delivery good or bad. If you look at our reviews, we get 5* from the customers who experience a problem with their order. If you look at every other company out there who get 1 or 2* for poor customer service it is usually down to how they were dealt with by the customer service team. We take pride in our customer relations, which is why we still receive the 5* reviews when things go wrong.
Only Oak Furniture are a small, family-run business, who pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service.
